Many publications are available on how to make a difference in unwanted fire. A few copies of those below are a basis for understanding overall fire risk in buildings. Of course each also has a place in studying the L-Curve Method. These Publications are:

Nine Steps From Ignition to Extinguishment - Single copy US$19.95
A 64-page book with full-color cover originally published in 1976; 2nd edition, updated terminology.
A completely new book for Time-motion study using the terminology of the Fire Service including the three steps before the Fire Service is informed. Invaluable for measuring Fire Service performance.

Time--The Yardstick of Fire Control - Single copy US$10.50
Written by Rexford Wilson, originally published in 1962; 12-page reprint, author's terminology.
A valued reference used in Fire Service and employee training. Shows how different materials vary the speed of fire growth, and how people die in various fire atmospheres.

The Occupant Risk Method - Single copy US$19.95
Written by Alan Gomberg and Rexford Wilson, published in 1978; 1st edition, 69 pages, author's terminology.
A new way of looking at all the people in a building at the time of ignition -- those who get out and those who don't. The way Fire Risk varies is examined. Included are such factors as time of day, age of people, condition of people. Defines the mobile, the stuporous, the handicapped in fire terms.
